She was the youngest of five kids born within five years, and Kemper’s mom died when she was 2 (and her siblings were 4, 5, 6, and 7). “With her illness, I honestly don’t know if we had specific ‘mommy and me’ time,” she says. “I was too young to remember, and amid all the chaos, nothing was documented.
